How to Add Zencam Cameras to Amcrest View Pro

Amcrest View Pro Setup for Zencam (WiFi Configuration Setup)

Note: It is highly recommended to not use Zencam cameras on the Amcrest View Pro app since it will limit certain features and abilities. For more optimal support, please use the Zencam Security app. For more information on how to add your camera to the Zencam security app, please click here

If you wish to still proceed with adding your camera to the Amcrest View Pro app, please follow the instructions provided below.

First connect your mobile device to your WiFi network and download the app Amcrest View Pro app from the App Store or Play Store. Download Amcrest View on your mobile device:

Amcrest View for iOS: Requires iOS 6.0 or later.

Amcrest View for Android: Requires Android 3.0 or later.

Step 1

Connect the camera to a power supply using the included power adapter. Wait for the camera to start-up and initialize.

Step 2:

Open Amcrest View Pro on your mobile device.

Step 3:

Tab the menu icon  IMG_5249.PNG on the top left to open the menu.

Step 4:

Now select “Device Manager” from the menu.

Step 5:

Device Manager will appear. Tap the plus icon  IMG_5250.PNG on the top right, or tap "Add Device".

Step 6:

Select the device type you will be connecting to the app. Since all Zencam cameras are WiFi based units, select "WiFi Camera" from the list.

Step 7:

Select your connection type. In this case, tap on the left tab "Set Up A New Camera On WiFi" to begin adding your device. Tap on the arrow next to WiFi Configuration Setup to continue.

Step 8:

The camera will open on your mobile device to scan the QR code located on the device you’re adding to the app. Do not scan the QR Code on your Zencam camera. To add your device successfully, you will need to enter in the Serial Number manually.

Tap Enter S/N Manually to begin typing in the serial number for your device. The serial number can be found on the bottom of the device on the serial tag. Enter in the S/N in the S/N field and press Next to continue.

Step 9:

Once the serial number for device has been entered in, you will then be prompted to give your camera a name. This name can be unique to your camera and can be named anything you wish. After you name your camera, please enter the camera's username and password. The default username and password is admin. Once this information is entered, please press "Next" to continue.

Step 10:

Enter in your WiFi password on this screen. The Network SSID will automatically be entered if your mobile device is already connected to the WiFi. If your device has not been connected to a WiFi source, the Network SSID and password of your WiFi can be entered manually.

NOTE: You must be within the WiFi range of the network to connect your device.

The device will then begin establishing a connection to your Wireless Network. After a few minutes, the words "Camera Successfully Connected" will appear when the connection can be established. Begin viewing your camera by tapping on "Start Live Preview".

Note: If you are having issues connecting, please verify the LED light on the front of the device is solid green. If the LED is solid green it indicates the camera has been added successfully. A flashing green LED indicates that the camera might be having troubles connecting to your WiFi network.

Step 11:

The app will then prompt you to change the password for your device. Enter a password within the maximum 32 characters in length. After you have entered your new password for your device, please click on "Start Live View" to view the Live View screen.

The live stream from your camera will be presented in the Live View screen.

Troubleshooting the Network Connection

If your camera is not connecting to your wireless network using Amcrest View Pro, we recommend checking and performing the following:

Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz network. The ProHD and HDseries cameras are equipped with a WiFi module that currently only supports 2.4GHz wireless networks. If your router uses a 5GHz network, it may be inaccessible as the camera can only establish a connection with a 2.4GHz network broadcast.

If you have the ability to broadcast separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks on your router, you can connect to the 2.4GHz network to complete the camera’s WiFi Configuration.

If you are confident your router is 2.4GHz, and still receive errors with during WiFi Configuration setup, fully reboot your camera by unplugging the power, waiting approximately 10 seconds, then plugging the power back into the camera. Once the camera fully reboots, try setting up the camera again using this method.
