How To Adjust Motion Sensitivity In Your Zencam Camera
Configuring sensitivity settings on your Zencam camera is a very simple process. Please follow the instructions below to better understand how you can more efficiently configure your camera to detect motion without receiving all those false alerts.
Step 1: Please log into your camera via the Zencam Security app.
Step 2: Once you are logged into your camera, please select the settings (gear wheel) icon in the upper right hand corner.
Step 3: In the settings menu, please tap on the "Motion Detection" tab.
Step 4: In the Motion Detection menu, please tap on "Sensitivity" to adjust your sensitivity settings.
Step 5: In the sensitivity menu you will notice a scroll menu that ranges from 1 - 100. From this menu, please select which sensitivity setting will best suit your situation. As a standard, we recommend a typical sensitivity setting to range between 60 - 65 however, this can be adjusted based on your specific situation:
Unfortunately, there is no clear cut answer to setting sensitivity that can truly eliminate false positives, while maintaining that they trigger as desired, for all cases. The problem is simply that everyone's cameras will be looking at such drastically different scenes, that one person can have false positives on a very low sensitivity (due to snow) whereas the other can use the same settings and not even catch the movements of trees in the wind.
The best thing you can do is work out a configuration for each camera based specifically on what your cameras are likely to register as motion and customize your settings to your preference.
